Company page
An organisation's own account on a network, such as a LinkedIn Page, as distinct from the personal profiles of the people who work there.
Also called: LinkedIn Page, business page, organisation page
A company page is the account that speaks for an organisation. On LinkedIn it is called a Page: LinkedIn says that “LinkedIn profiles represent individuals” while “LinkedIn Pages represent collective organizations”, that you need a profile to create a Page, and that “you can’t represent your organization with a LinkedIn profile since LinkedIn profiles must represent real people” (LinkedIn Help).
For a small company the page and the founder’s profile are two different presences. The page is where people check that the company exists, what it sells and whether it is hiring; LinkedIn’s own best-practice guide stresses completing every section of it (LinkedIn Help). The founder’s profile is where opinions, stories and decisions tend to live. The guide on profile versus page covers how to split the work between them.
